Ideal Communist Soceity and its Possibility
Communism is an extreme left-wing ideology that calls for the abolition of all sorts of privatization. The ideology calls for the State to take over and regulate everything in the society such that everyone is considered and treated equally.
An ideal communist society would look like a society where all the private properties and holdings are abolished. The ruling state takes over all these properties. There would be absence of social classes, religious segregations and other types of segregation in the society. In simple words, it would be a society where everyone is considered and treated equally.
A perfect communist soceity would be:
- A society where everyone is treated equally .
- A society where people are not materialistic, own nothing and have the desire to own nothing
- A society where no preferential treatment is given based on the individual’s background.
- A society where there is no corruption among the officials of the state(Government) and every sector is highly regulated by the government. Some form of extreme communism calls for anarchy where no one controls nothing and the system treats everyone equally.
An ideal communist society, if implemented properly would result in lesser poverty as well as less inequality in wealth distribution.
But the sad truth is that an ideal communist society is practically impossible to achieve.
It is practically impossible to achieve because:
- Human beings have the inherent desire to dominate other human beings. Many human beings don’t consider them equal to others
- Human Beings like to own things and are materialistic in nature.
- Human beings have a desire to get recognition for their work but in an ideal communist society, a man who works hard and a man who doesn’t, are treated equally.
It is the own nature of human beings that makes it impossible to create an ideal communist soceity.
Many countries tried enforcing strong communist policies and rules, but in most cases, the results were catastrophic.
Some of the visible observations in these countries during the enforcement were:
- Widespread poverty and hunger ;
- No desire for the majority of people to work, since people who worked and who didn’t were treated fairly equal.
- There was no free market; Corruption in power circle was rampant.
- Innovations and inventions were very less compared to countries that leaned towards capitalism.
- Quality of life was much less when compared to a country-leaning towards capitalism
- Inefficiency of work in every sector without proper supervision
- The economy was going into a death spiral because of rampant corruption, mounting losses in each sector, the inefficiency of work in every sector, etc.
To Conclude, An ideal communist society would mean less inequality and very little poverty, but an ideal communist society is impossible to achieve. The psychology and nature of human beings makes it impossible for implementing a perfect communist system.
Even though ideal communism could do wonders if implemented properly, it is practically impossible to do so because of the inherent nature of human beings , thus making it a failed ideology.
